Chris Durham MD attended medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Kentucky. Being board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine, he has almost ten years experience in these fields. Dr. Durham is currently furthering his education in Functional and Metabolic Medicine, as well as Hormone Optimization. He is the owner and lead physician at Bluegrass Preventive Medicine. Chris also has experience in Concierge Medicine and Personalized Healthcare. Lexington is now home for him, his wife, and three beautiful children.
Elena Huffman Baker, APRN, NP-C, MSN obtained her undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree multiple degrees in Theatre, Communications and Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986. She worked in the public sector for several years specializing in physiognomy and restorative make-up for several high profile national cosmetic lines. Elena earned her Associates of Nursing at Midway University of Midway, Kentucky in 1994 followed by her Bachelors of Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond Kentucky in 2005.
She worked for several years in Critical Care, focusing on Open heart surgery patients, before working as a Cardiac Clinical Specialist for a busy Cardiology Group. Soon afterward, she worked in Pharma for several years as a Clinical Director for such companies as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Teva, Gilead and Roche Pharmaceutical creating educational content and training on drugs as they passed FDA approval. Elena also worked as a Clinical Educator and Employee Health Nurse for a large Health network, focusing on Health and Wellness. She obtained her first Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 2011. In 2014, Elena obtained her second Master of Science Degree from Frontier Nursing University and licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Elena maintains board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her 23 years of nursing experience encompass a broad spectrum including medical and clinical pharmacology, critical care, clinical cardiology, open-heart surgery and recovery, acute care, and emergency medicine. However, throughout her career, she has always maintained an interest in aesthetics and restorative healthcare as well as cosmetology and physiognomy.
She is trained and certified in Biote Hormone Pellet administration, (dermal fillers, and numerous other applications). Elena practices aesthetic and Health Management medicine at Bluegrass Preventative Medicine in Lexington, KY. Elena resides in central Kentucky.
Alana Leavell is a American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certified Family Practice NP. She has experience in pediatric medicine, family medicine, urgent care, wound care, and emergency medicine. Alana has always had an interest in holistic medicine and women health that lead to her interest in BHRT. She is devoted to improving the quality of life in her patients and has seen the benefits NHRT can play in this. When she is not improving her medical practice she enjoys spending time with family and friends on her family farm with her husband and son.
